Military bombs the KIA-controlled area in Mohnyin

November 26th, 2021

The military carried out at least five bombings by two fighter jets in the south of Thonepyin village in Indawgyi of Mohnyin District under the Battalion-26 of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) On the morning of November 25th, according to an official of the KIA’s Battalion-26.

The KIA official told the KNG: “Since around 1 am, the military carried out airstrikes by fighter jets. The military dropped bombs at least five times. But there was no report of casualties. I don’t know why the military carried out attacks. It can be said that the military carried out attacks normally. There is no fighting between the KIA and the military council’s troops until November 25th although the military council bombed the KIA’s battalion-26.”

The village is located about ten miles from Indawgyi Township.

This is the third time the military council’s troops carried out airstrikes on the Battalion-26 under Brigade-9 of the KIA’s this year, according to locals.

There is no fighting between the military council’s troops and the KIA in Kachin State during this month.
