Combined force of the KNDO and the KNLA captures a military outpost in Wawlay

A combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) captured UKaYitHta military outpost in Wawlay town in Thay Baw Bo in Myawaddy in Karen State at around 8 am on June 26th.

The combined force is carrying out the area clearing operations even though it has seized the outpost, according to the military news source.

“Since night, we attacked the outpost from the four corners. The military fired heavy shells from Wawlay military strategic hill. This morning, they withdrew from the outpost. The area clearance operation is under way. We will release the latest information later,” he continues.

UKaYitHta outpost is loacted at the Mulaei-Sukali junction at the entrance of new Wawlay town in Thay Baw Bo in Myawaddy. It is under the defensive and border military strategy unit of the military council.

This is the 6th outpost of the military council seized by the combined force of the KNLA and the KNDO in the No.6 Brigade-controlled territory under the Karen National Union (KNU).

On May 18th, a combined force of the KNLA and the KNDO seized Thay Baw Bo outpost in the south of Myawaddy on the Thai-Myanmar border and arrested six soldiers.
